The Best Protection for a New Tesla

A practical protection strategy for new Tesla owners in Florida — PPF, coating, tint, and what to prioritize.

Why Teslas need protection early

Tesla paint is known to be relatively soft and prone to swirl marks and rock chips. Florida's sun, salt air, and highway debris accelerate wear. The best time to protect a new Tesla is before the first chip — not after.

The priority order

  1. 1PPF on high-impact areas — Full Front or Track Pack protects the hood, fenders, bumper, and mirrors where chips happen first. For a Tesla you plan to keep, this is the single highest-value protection.
  2. 2Ceramic coating — over the rest of the vehicle for gloss, hydrophobic behavior, and UV resistance. Can also go over PPF.
  3. 3Ceramic window tint — reduces cabin heat and UV. On an EV, less AC load supports climate efficiency and comfort.
  4. 4Paint correction (if needed) — new Teslas can arrive with delivery swirls. A light enhancement polish before coating locks in a flawless base.

What to skip

Don't wait for the first scratch. Don't rely on wax — it won't survive Florida conditions. Don't skip the inspection — even new vehicles can have clear-coat issues worth knowing about.
